Vikram had first initiated and recorded the song Spirit of Chennai with composer C Girinandh,as a tribute to the spirit of the city and its volunteers during the recent floods that pounded the state.
The Album Spirit Of Chennai Released on 2 January 2016, Music composed by C. Girinandh, and features the voices of over 28 singers and Shankar Mahadevan, Hariharan and S.P. Balasubrahmanyam also .
The visuals of Spirit Of Chennai are currently being shot in Chennai under Vikram's direction. Actors Abhishek Bachchan, Nivin Pauly,Prithviraj, Khushbu,Prabhudeva,Surya,Karthik,Vishnu Vishal,Jeeva,AmalaPoul,Nayanthara,Nithyamenon,Varalkshmi and more join the effort.
